- Charitable giving works.
Imagine your world without charity. There are over 160,000 registered charities in Canada adding to the social fabric of our society.
- Charity is good for you.
Philanthropists are healthier and happier. Helping others or giving to charities gives good feelings and causes the brain to release endorphins.
- You believe in the cause and/or have a personal connection.
- You will be appreciated and respected.
- Charitable giving and volunteering is the right thing to do as part of society.
No one prospers without society, so it is only right to share and give back to the same society.

If you are currently benefiting from organizations that have received charitable support then you too should be contributing to pay your own use. It is not fair to be taking the benefit without paying too.
- Pay-back time.
People in the past have given to support you. You have an obligation to keep it going and support the next generation.
- Get a tax receipt for your charitable giving to help reduce your income tax. Our partners at Imagine Canada say: Let’s make it easier for Canadians to support the causes that matter to them the most! Imagine Canada proposes the Stretch Tax Credit for Charitable Giving, a new and simple tax incentive for all Canadians. The purpose of the Stretch Tax Credit for Charitable Giving is to encourage more Canadians to give and to support those who do give to give more.
- There is always someone less well off.
Be part of the solution. Don’t be a part of the problem. Give charitably and be a hero. If you and I do not give, then who will?
- Go to sleep at night with a smile on your face knowing you helped to make a difference.
Every bit helps and you deserve a pat on the back.
- TIP: Consider a giving circle.
Create a group of friends, neighbours, or work colleagues. Pool your resources towards one cause where your whole group can truly make a greater impact. Choose a charity, get involved, make a difference, visit to see how your pooled gift has helped. Have some fun, arrange a group meeting (coffee, cocktail, barbecue) and make this a rewarding activity.
